Alvaro Jardim is a psychologist and psychotherapist. Having completed the Grofs' first three-year training program, in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, he was certified as a Holotropic Breathwork Practitioner, and has been involved with Transpersonal Psychology and the Holotropic Breathwork since 1997.

He made GTT Advanced Training in 1998, in Paulden, AZ, U.S.A., and worked with Stanislav Grof and Tav Sparks in U.S.A., Europe and in Brazil facilitates Holotropic Breathwork workshops monthly, since September of 1997, having worked in Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Brasilia, Sao Paolo and Goiania. Alvaro maintains a practice that includes both private and group work.

He is a Specialist in Human Values and Transdisciplinarity by Universidade Salgado de Oliveira, in Brazil. He gave transpersonal psychology and holotropic breathwork tuition in the Centro de Ensino Unificado de Brasilia, and as invited professor in the Universidade Salgado de Oliveira, Universidade Católica de Goiás and Centro Psicoterápico e Transpessoal, in Brazil.

He is a Coordinator of the Grof Transpersonal Training program and is authorized by GTT to give the training in Brazil.

He developed the project and coordinated the Specialization in Applied Transpersonal Psychology, structured on Stanislav Grof's Theory, an interinstitutional partnership from Centro Psicoterápico e Transpessoal and Universidade Católica de Goiás.

He signed a contract of Scientific Technician Cooperation with the Universidade São Marcos, in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, in 2004, approving the project of Specialization in Applied Transpersonal Psychology.

From November 2003 to November 2006 he was part of the Board of Directors of the Association for Holotropic Breathwork International.

Alvaro signed a contract with a company and works with a project to the light of Stanislav Grof’s methodology for people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, since March 2007.
